Location

Convento La Perla is just a few kilometres away from the sandy beach of apuan Riviera, but also from the most important marble quarries of Carrara . Excursions around the marble can last half or whole day long, depending on your mood. Guided tours can be arranged to explore the caves above or underground. The production of crafts and/or the Marble Museum and the world-renowned Academy of Fine Arts can be visited. A small lunch made of local produce could be the perfect way to end this tour.

As the "Convento La Perla" is situated amidst the vineyards of "Vino Candia dei Colli Apuani" and on the "Strada del Vino", it is natural to take part in a wine tasting.

Hikes are possible in less than an hour you reach the Apuan Alps, the Tosco - Emilian Apennines, the neighbouring valleys of Lunigiana and Garfagnana and the trails of the Ligurian Cinque Terre. Close to the Convento the "Via Francigena" is also marked.

Le Cinque Terre are also very recommended to visit , better by train or in the Summer by boat, directly from Carrara harbour. The emerald green sea, the rocky shoreline and the vegetation of the National Park invite you to relax , breathe and be happy ... and take pictures ...

The glamourous Versilia can be easily reached for some nice shopping or a cultural experience.

The walled city of Lucca is also a place that should definitely be visited, As well as being the birthplace of Puccini there are many other attractions and it gives the visitor the experience of a relaxing atmosphere of a city full of sophistication and elegance, part of true Tuscan lifestyle without the chaos of a "noisy" city. Other interesting and beautiful places within reach: The Gulf of Poets, La Spezia, Portovenere, Lerici; Fosdinovo, Sarzana, Luni, the Lunigiana, Levigliani near Seravezza with the caves"L'Antro del Corchia" or "La Grotta del Vento" in the Garfagnana valley.
